Westbrook Industrial set to save thousands on energy bills after solar PV installation.
Westbrook Industrial, based in Warrington, is the parent group of warehouse labeling and integrated safety solutions specialist, ASG Services, plus a trade division, Warehouse Partners. ASG Services is the trusted supplier of choice for warehouse and industrial identification, integrated safety systems, and associated products. The company provides a range of products in each of its specialist fields – Labelling and Signs, Netting Solutions, Line Marking, and Safety & Barriers. Warehouse Partners is a unique company providing high-quality, non-core products and services direct to suppliers of storage and material handling equipment.
The Challenge
Westbrook had been exploring ways of developing a more sustainable and ethical operating model, a move that prompted it to invest in a fleet of electric vehicles, together with onsite charging points. Examining alternative energy strategies as a way of lowering its energy bills and further reducing its carbon footprint, it linked up with solar panel supplier, Perfect Sense.
The Solution
Perfect Sense conducted a thorough review of the Westbrook warehouse and its requirements, after which it recommended the installation of a 21kWp Solar PV System. The total solution included site survey, system design, District Network Operator (DNO) approvals, Health & Safety compliance, total project management of the installation and electrical services connection.
The Outcome
Whilst figures are not available for the new installation, the system will generate approximately 11,500kW per year of clean, free energy across the lifetime of the panels, which is typically 25 years.
The system also demonstrates Westbrook’s commitment to further reducing its carbon footprint, putting sustainability at the heart of the business. Over the lifespan of the system, Westbrook anticipates a reduction in carbon footprint by 97 tonnes of CO2.
